Chief Officer, Office of Disability and Medical Assessment for 8 years negotiated joint policies among VBA, VHA, DoD, VSOs, and other federal and private agencies to govern the worldwide disability program.
I led 5000+ in-house VHA and nationwide and overseas contract examiners with to deliver over 2 million exams and medical opinions per year. I provided strategic direction into and methods for the Under Secretaries for Health and Benefit and the VA Secretary that facilitated both clinical and business decisions.
I developed 20 widely used online training modules, data analytics tools, software programs, world-wide policies and designed innovative solution to unique challenges. Provided testimony before the House and Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and the Committee on Veterans Affairs Subcommittee on Disability Assistance & Memorial Affairs.
Improvements included changes in surgical program operations, credentialing and privileges processes, C-suite operations, performance improvement policies, mental and nursing home care practices and policies, changes to Medical Staff functions, individual case management, monitoring and usage of blood products, and nursing practice.”
